Capita suffered a cyber incident in March 2023 which resulted in the exfiltration of certain RS Group member data. We have previously written to our members to advise them of the impact of this incident.

Since then, Capita have informed us that a number of enhancements have been made to their security posture, further bolstering Capita's suite of security tools through deployment of additional technology as well as enhancing training and education of employees through expanded phishing simulation tests.

Capita employed a leading cyber security provider who continues to conduct regular systematic searches of the normal and dark web to identify whether any such data has been shared or made available for sale online. To date they have not found any evidence of this, so there is currently no basis to consider that data is being misused or that the likelihood of this would increase in the future.

Capita also engaged a leading provider in eDiscovery to carry out data forensics on the data involved in the incident. This independent review has been completed and Capita have confirmed the results to RS Group.
